Women of Worth now have a late model minivan thanks to Nevada County South Rotary, who spearheaded a district grant to purchase a vehicle for Women of Worth to help transport shelter families staying at Hetty’s Haven.

Donations Off for Back to School Supplies
Women of Worth is collecting school supplies to give to children whose families are affected by the challenging economic conditions. Director, Sandy Schmidt says distribution day is just one week away on August 6th and donations are down this year by 90 percent or more.

Women of Worth Yard Sale July 16
Due to the unexpected termination of their lease, Women of Worth the non-profit organization that assists women and women with children to make the transition out of an abusive situation, is forced to liquidate most of their 24 hundred square foot storage facility by the end of the month.

Sandy Schmidt, Executive Director of Women of Worth, says the interest in their latest fundraiser, a 1959 Nash Metropolitan Convertible to be raffled off, is getting nationwide attention.

Hetty’s Haven celebrates its first Christmas
A warm bed, shelter, food, clothing, counseling, caring, comfort … these are some of the things that women and children have received since they have been part of Hetty’s Haven, a transitional home named in memory of Grass Valley resident Hetty Williams.
